EVERYONE LOVES FREE STUFF...RIGHT?
Klayton Was Here… (with free tracks)
EVERYONE LOVES FREE STUFF
And that includes me too, but they say it is better to give than receive (funny, as a kid i remember not buying that concept whatsoever.) So now that i'm not a kid anymore, i guess i have to accept the fact that it IS better to give than receive. So here's some free music for you. Most of you know that for awhile i've been giving away some tracks for free. I didn't feel like it was visible enough and i couldn't afford to rent a hot air balloon to fly over major cities and drop mp3's over the masses. I've been wanting to find a better (and free-er) way to distribute some of my tracks and never really found the right fit. Well, i'm glad to say i've finally found it. I'm partnering with True Anthem who has created a widget that will allow you all to download whatever i put in there * for freakin' free*. There are a few other things that make this even cooler:
- You can "grab this" widget (top right corner) and embed it on your own sites and profiles for more people to find, and they can then download these tracks *for freakin' free* too. So now you can walk around with that warm fuzzy feeling in your tummy, knowing that you've done a good deed by giving instead of receiving.
- Many of these tracks are remixes from the Celldweller Remix Competition, mostly from the "Switchback" round which until now has not been released.) So, every artist that has been picked for this release is getting a plug. How much cooler is that? You can not only spread the word about Celldweller, but also a slew of other cool independent artists who will love you til the end of time for spreading their name to the world. You could even consider yourself some sort of technological missionary, "spreading the word through widget". I can see your halos glowing from here....
- Another cool part of this (for me, and probably many of you gamers) is that Ubisoft had gotten involved in this with their new game Haze. So i get to pretend i'm cool b/c there's a little "Haze" graphic on the widget. Now i'll have something to show my grandkids someday. (btw, is it possible to just skip having kids and just adopt grandkids? I kinda want to brag to them about this asap.)
Ok, it's pretty easy. i actually tried it today for the first time to see if i was smart enough to figure it out. Thankfully i pulled it off. I couldn't handle a blow to my fragile ego if i hadn't been able to figure it out. So for simplicity, i will impart the vast knowledge i have gained through my experience with this mighty widget:
To download the album (all 16 tracks plus the "Switchback" Video) just click the "download album" button on the bottom right. This adds the whole album to your cart. (notice your total is $0.00? *freakin' free*...) Then click "checkout" on the bottom right again. Click the little "signup" link at the bottom left and put in a valid e-mail address, so you can get a confirmation email. Get your confirmation email, click the confirm link and start downloading your tracks. From now on, you can just log in to the widget and download anything we're making available there (*for freakin' free*)
Damn, i wish medical school had been this easy - i would've been a doctor by now doing fun stuff like tapping people on the knee so they can involuntarily kick me in the face, or giving nice people nice colonoscopies.
I think i've typed enough for one night. If the widget doesn't show up (i don't trust Internet Explorer to actually do what it's supposed to) go here to view the widget. Go to town, enjoy the tracks and put the $ you might have paid for them in your gas tank instead.
Hugs n Kisses -
[Klayton]
*International Fans - international postal code support will be included in the next True Anthem Widget release, for now, enter "99999"

The Celldweller Remix Competition has held 3 successful rounds over the past year and is ready to take it to the next level. Klayton's company FiXT has been responsible for managing the Celldweller rounds, and is now preparing to launch a new Remix Competition Site called FiXT Remix.
The new site is still in development, so FiXT has created a Pre-Launch event to help transition everyone to the new site. FiXT Remix has just launched a Subkulture's "Erasus" , Pre-Launch contest today, and will run the competition until the full site is launched later this year. The full launch will be based around the next Celldweller remix competition.
